This page collects the practical notices about how Nargusta operates: the text messages we send, the outside services we rely on, how club listings work, and what to keep in mind when your cruising crosses a border.
Not affiliated with any club or institution
Nargusta is an independent introduction service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or acting on behalf of any yacht club, sailing club, sailing association, marina, or other formal institution or organization, or their burgees or marks. Club names and affiliations shown on the platform are entered by members themselves.
Text messages
When you provide your phone number and use the platform, you agree to receive text messages from us. These include your sign-in verification codes, notifications when another member sends or accepts a connection request, and, if you turn that option on, alerts when a verified sailor plans to pass near you.
Message frequency varies with your activity. Message and data rates may apply. ReplySTOP to any message to opt out of non-essential texts, orHELP for help. Verification codes are required to sign in, so opting out of texts may prevent you from using the platform. Messages are delivered through our provider, Twilio.
Services we use
To run the platform we rely on a small number of third-party services:
- Twilio delivers our SMS verification codes and notifications.
- Cloudflare hosts the application and stores its data.
- OpenStreetMap provides the geocoding that turns a place name into a location for search and passage matching. Location data is copyright OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License.
Club listings
Members list their own club affiliations, and the platform does not independently confirm them. If you represent a club and would like a listing corrected, or your club's name removed from the platform, contact us through our contact page and we will address it.
Travel across borders
Reciprocal privileges and passages may take you to clubs and ports in other countries. Customs, immigration, cruising permits, and local rules are your responsibility, and nothing on this platform is customs, immigration, or legal advice. Check the requirements for any place you plan to visit before you go.
